Council maintains more than 70,000 hectares of grass in Brisbane, including grass cutting in parks across the city.
Council programs its grass-cutting schedule to align with the seasons. Generally, we mow parks monthly in winter and fortnightly in summer, when grass grows faster. We mow popular parks weekly in the peak of summer.
Significant rainfall or periods of extended dry weather can disrupt scheduling. When this happens, we reschedule services when it is safe and practical.
